The University of Southern California Trojans College Football Team in 2014
USC started the season with a 52-13 victory over Fresno State. The 14th ranked Trojans would capitalize on two fumbles to defeat the 13th ranked Stanford Cardinal in their second game of the season. Despite being heavily favored, USC would shockingly lose to Boston College 37-31. The loss to Boston College knocked USC down to 18th in the rankings, but they would respond with a 35-10 win over Oregon State. USC would be stunned by Arizona State 38-34 after they threw a 46 yard touchdown on the final play of the game. The Trojans almost blew another big lead against Arizona in their next game, but they would stop a 2-point conversion with a minute remaining to win the game 28-26.
USC cruised to a victory over Colorado to start the second half of their season. USC would give up another late lead when Utah score a touchdown with eight seconds remaining in the game to win 24-20. After cruising to victories past Washington State and California, USC would face the 9th ranked UCLA Bruins on November 22nd. A win over UCLA would have helped USC win the Pac-12 south division, but they had no answer for Brett Hundley in the 38-20 loss. The USC Trojans would dismantle Notre Dame 49-14 in the final regular season game to earn a spot in the Holiday Bowl against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Trojans would avoid another late game collapse to defeat Nebraska 45-42. The victory in the Holiday Bowl would help the USC Trojans finish the season as the 20th ranked team in college football.
